Silat Combat System
Deep dive into the Pencak Silat-inspired combat mechanics — dodge i-frames, parry timing, combo scaling, and Silat Counter mastery.
Dodge Mechanics
Dodge-roll has 0.3 seconds of invincibility frames (i-frames) at startup, then 0.2s of recovery where you can be hit. The i-frame window starts the moment you press dodge, not when the animation begins. Dodging toward the attack source shortens the overlap time and positions you behind the enemy.
| Dodge Type | Distance | i-Frames | Recovery | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forward Roll | Short | 0.3s | 0.2s | Aggressive counter setups |
| Side Roll | Medium | 0.3s | 0.25s | Sweep and AOE avoidance |
| Back Roll | Long | 0.25s | 0.3s | Creating distance, healing |
| Double Dodge | Varies | 0.3s x2 | 0.4s | Multi-hit boss combos |
Silat Counter System
The Silat Counter is triggered by a perfect dodge — dodging through an attack during i-frames. On activation, the enemy is stunned for 3 seconds and takes +50% damage from all sources. A visual blue flash and a chime sound confirm the counter. You can chain up to 3 Silat Counters in a single boss fight before the boss becomes temporarily immune to stun (10s cooldown).
Combo System
Each weapon has a 4-hit light combo and a 2-hit heavy combo. Light attacks build Combo Meter (max 10 stacks) — each stack increases damage by 5%. Heavy attacks consume 3 stacks for a burst of damage. Landing the full 4-hit light combo followed by a heavy finisher is the optimal DPS rotation for most weapons.
Parry vs Dodge — When to Use Each
Parrying has tighter timing (0.15s window) but reflects 30% damage back. Use parry against slow, telegraphed attacks (Guardian of Earth ground slam). Use dodge against multi-hit combos and fast attacks. Most players should dodge 80% of the time and parry only on attacks they have memorized. A missed parry results in full damage + stun — it is the riskiest mechanic in the game.
